Oversized loads can be transported by obtaining permits from each US state; however, the permitting process from each state can be time-consuming and costly. Such permits for “over-dimensional loads” over 13”6” high or 8’ 6” wide may also impose restrictions on what routes may be driven, hours when the shipment can move, and a wide variety of other safety precautions.
