Oversized loads can be transported by obtaining permits from each US state; however the permitting process from each state can be time-consuming and costly. Such permits for “over-dimensional loads” over 13”6” high or 8’ 6” wide may also impose restrictions on what routes may be driven, hours when the shipment can move, and wide variety of other safety precautions.
