FUEL SURCHARGE FROM ADJUSTMENTS TO THE DIESEL COST TO THE USERS OF CARGO AUTO TRANSPORTATION

TO THE CARGO AUTO TRANSPORTATION PROVIDERS FROM THE COUNTRY:

Until the month of December of last year, the increase in the price of fuels in our Country (Mexico) was made in a gradual way and the percentage was established in agreement with the rate of the expected inflation, the rate was never superior to the inflation percentage.

Nevertheless, the increase in the cost of diesel reached 11.1% already, exceeding the inflation rate that was projected for end of the 2008 and everything seems to indicate that these increases will continue.

In light of this event, the NATIONAL CHAMBER OF CARGO AUTO TRANSPORTATION, has determined to publish a weekly charge adjustment in fuel such as it is applied in other countries in which the price of fuel is subject to constant variations.

The concept is better known as “Fuel Surcharge”, it is an index independent of the negotiated tariff that allows passing on the increases or decreases in fuel, to a total invoice.

In Mexico’s case, a technical study was made with the goal of determining the adjustment factor that would be necessary, considering the increases accumulated during 2008. In the study mentioned, all variables that have an influence in fuel consumption were considered, resulting in a FSC of 43.0769MN cents per kilometer.

The National Chamber of Cargo Auto transportation (CANACAR) will publish each week, in the webpage www.canacar.com.mx the Fuel Surcharge (FSC).

In order to continue guaranteeing the sustenance of the transportation service in Mexico, it is necessary that this factor is applied to users beginning September 10th of the present year.

ATTENTIVELY;

NATIONAL CHAMBER OF CARGO AUTOTRANSPORTATION
